10/4: Try Out Adaptive Cycling with POGOH

As part of the Week Without Driving, Access Mob Pittsburgh and Age Friendly Greater Pittsburgh are inviting you to join us to try out Adaptive Cycling with our friends at POGOH.

  • Who: Anyone and everyone, regardless of disability status or experience level in cycling.
  • What: A fun afternoon of trying out some adaptive bicycles, tricycles, and more!
  • When: Sunday, October 4, from 1-4 PM.
  • Transportation:
    • Public Transit: The closest transit stop is at the corner of Sandusky St and Isabella St. You can ride the 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, and P13 outbound from Downtown and get off at that intersection, or you can take the 1, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 16, and 17 inbound, get off at Sandusky St and General Robinson St, and walk one block to Sandusky St and Isabella St. There will be volunteers at Sandusky St and Isabella St to direct or escort people from the stop to the riding location.
    • ACCESS / Drop-off: The drop-off location for ACCESS and other vehicles is 12 Federal St. There will be volunteers at the site to direct or escort people to the riding location.
    • Car: As this event is part of the Week Without Driving, we strongly encourage people to walk/roll/use public transit, but we understand that this is impractical for many people with disabilities. There is limited on-street parking available on Isabella St, and there is a paid parking lot two blocks away at 20 E General Robinson St.
  • Accessibility:
    • ASL: There will be an ASL interpreter available on-site from 1-4 PM.
    • Requests: If you have any other accessibility requests, please email accessmobpittsburgh@gmail.com by September 23rd at the absolute latest.
  • Weather: This is a fair weather activity only! In the event of rain, we will announce that the event is canceled on this site and via our mailing list. Use the “Join Our Mailing List” link on the sidebar to subscribe.
